Flower pollen in honey

Humans have been consuming honey and bee products since the Stone Age, but not in the form we know today. While today we enjoy an often shimmering, golden-yellow and optically pure substance as honey, the bee product looked completely different until about 150 years ago. Because at that time the first honey extractor was used, which extracts the honey from movable frames.

In the past, the whole honeycombs were harvested without further ado, including the bee pollen they contained. For example, the honey was consumed with bee pollen – an extremely healthy food!

Even today, in some very poor regions, it happens that people do not extract honey from the honeycombs, but harvest it with the whole honeycomb. The honey is then pressed out of the honeycomb, which ultimately leaves a lot of pollen in the honey. Thus, people get the healthiest form of honey consumption in this way.

Some scientists, for example, reported on a region deep in Russia. The population there feeds mainly on honeycomb pieces with pollen and honey. Astonishingly, the people there live to a very old age, 100 years of life and more are not uncommon.

Of course, this is not to say that you should only eat honeycombs and bee pollen to stay healthy. The only thing that is emphasized is the healthy effect that bee pollen can have in honey.

Honey with bee pollen is a natural product, the improved beneficial properties of which are due to the composition of bee pollen.
